Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- The vibrant Sri Lankan community in New Zealand can play a greater role in strengthening bilateral trade, investment, tourism and economic relations between the two countries, New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Pine said in Colombo yesterday.

While addressing a media briefing yesterday on Lankan Fest 2026 festival, he said plans to establish a regular annual event bringing together the Sri Lankan community in New Zealand would not only foster community pride but also create greater visibility for Sri Lanka, opening new opportunities for business and economic cooperation. The Lankan Fest 2026 will be held Wakaraka Park, Auckland, New Zealand on 1st of November.
