Sri Lanka, June 24 -- The Sri Lankan Ambassador and Permanent Representative to Austria and to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Vienna, Dayani Mendis, assumed duties at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Vienna on June 22.

Following the assumption of duties, the Ambassador-designate addressed the staff, outlining the priorities of the Government of Sri Lanka. She underscored the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Austria, as well as with the accredited countries of Bosnia, Chechnya, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia, while promoting trade, investment, and tourism.
