Sri Lanka Women continue strong World Cup build-up
Sri Lanka, June 11 -- Sri Lanka Women continued their encouraging build-up to the T20 World Cup with a seven-wicket win over the Netherlands in their second warm-up match in Derby on Tuesday.
Back-to-back warm-up wins against Pakistan and the Netherlands have boosted the confidence of the Sri Lankan side. Stand-in skipper Harshitha Samarawickrama led the team in Chamari Athapaththu's absence and guided them to victory with five balls to spare.
Athapaththu was rested for the match, but the rest of the squad stepped up admirably, showing that the team has the depth and quality to perform well without relying on a single player.
