Sri Lanka, May 25 -- Director, Nucleus Foundation Dave Maurice stressed that Sri Lanka's tea smallholder sector must embrace sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices to remain globally competitive, at an event held to mark International Tea Day 2026.

The ceremony, organised by the Tea Small Holdings Development Authority with the support of Solidaridad and the Nucleus Foundation, focused on promoting regenagri tea cultivation and sustainable development within Sri Lanka's tea industry.

Addressing the gathering, Maurice said the tea sector is undergoing rapid transformation and stressed the importance of adopting innovative and environmentally sustainable practices to improve productivity and efficiency.
