Sri Lanka's inflation rises to 8% in August
Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Sri Lanka's headline inflation, measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI, 2021=100), increased to 8.0% in August 2026 from 7.3% in July, mainly due to the statistical base effect in food inflation, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.Shopping For Authentic South Asian Apparel
Food inflation accelerated significantly to 8.5% in August from 6.3% in July, making the largest contribution to the increase in headline inflation. In contrast, non-food inflation eased marginally to 7.7% from 7.8% during the same period.
