SriLanka, Sept. 24 -- Sri Lanka's total exports crossed the US$12 billion mark in the first eight months of 2026, reaching an estimated US$12.01 billion, supported by continued growth in services exports and strong performances in several value-added manufacturing sectors. According to provisional data released by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), total exports increased 4.26% year-on-year compared with US$11.52 billion recorded during the corresponding period of 2025.

Merchandise exports rose 3.63% to US$9.41 billion, while services exports increased at a faster pace of 6.59% to US$2.60 billion, highlighting the growing contribution of the services sector to Sri Lanka's foreign exchange earnings. In August alone, total expor...
