Sri Lanka, Feb. 27 -- A new Digital Nomad Visa (DNV) programme was launched yesterday (26) at the "Silk Route" passenger terminal of Bandaranaike International Airport, marking a fresh push to position Sri Lanka as a destination for remote workers.Sri Lanka Travel Guide
The initiative was inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Eranga Weeraratne in the presence of senior officials including Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya and Nayana Senaratne.
Under the scheme, foreign nationals aged over 18 can reside in Sri Lanka for up to one year while working remotely for overseas employers. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum monthly foreign exchange income of US$2,000 and are not permitted to engage in local employment or business activities.
