SriLanka, Sept. 29 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved steps to launch a joint Sri Lanka-Brazil programme aimed at strengthening the country's dairy industry through technical cooperation and knowledge sharing.

The initiative will be carried out under a Cooperation Agreement involving the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the Federal University of Vicosa and the Government of Sri Lanka.

A Complementary Adjustment Agreement between the two governments, which is required to facilitate the implementation of the programme, has also received Cabinet approval.
