Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- Central Province DIG Sudath Masinghe said that security arrangements for the Kandy Esala Perahera have been planned taking into account the underworld influence exerted on the Devinuwara Perahera.
He said that Ratmalane Saima, an underworld gang member who was brought to this country from a foreign country, was brought to Kandy yesterday (11) produced before court and a detention order was obtained.
DIG Masinghe made this statement during a discussion held at the Sri Dalada Maligawa to discuss the organisation of the Kandy Esala Perahera yesterday (11).
