Sri Lanka, June 9 -- The Speaker informed Parliament today (09) that he has received the determination of the Supreme Court regarding the Prevention of Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill.

The Bill had been challenged before the Supreme Court under Article 121(1) of the Constitution.

According to the Speaker, the Supreme Court has determined that the provisions of the Bill, except for Clause 14 which relates to proposed Section 12(a), can be passed by a simple majority in Parliament.

The determination was made in respect of the Bill titled the Prevention of Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, which is currently before Parliament.
