SL lauds India, UNESCO for designation of Sarnath as World Heritage site
Sri Lanka, July 29 -- In a milestone moment for Buddhist heritage and regional diplomacy, prominent Buddhist leaders, scholars and diplomatic channels from Sri Lanka have congratulated India following UNESCO's official inclusion of Sarnath in its World Heritage List.
Recognising the ancient site as a cornerstone of shared spiritual history, Sri Lankan clergy highlighted the historic designation as a testament to India's stewardship of global heritage and a reinforcement of the deep-rooted civilisational ties that bind the two South Asian nations.
