Sri Lanka, June 26 -- The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has decided to suspend the party membership and all party positions held by its Horana Electorate organiser, Charith Abeysinghe, with immediate effect, following his remand yesterday (25) over an alleged bribery incident reportedly linked to 2023.

Issuing a statement, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara clarified that at the time of the alleged bribery incident in 2023, Abeysinghe was neither a member nor an organiser of the party.

He further stated that Abeysinghe did not hold any position within the Samagi Jana Balawegaya during that period.
