Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- The Government lacks an understanding of diplomacy and does not know how to engage effectively with the international community, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP S.M. Marikkar charged yesterday (05).

Speaking to reporters, Marikkar argued that the President's absence from the recent United Nations General Assembly highlighted this diplomatic failure.

He stated that the President should have attended the summit to engage with world leaders and potential investors to generate revenue for the country, rather than attending meetings in Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.
