Sign Language Bill will be presented to Parliament soon - Minister
SriLanka, Aug. 15 -- Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Minister, Dr. Upali Pannilage said the Sign Language Bill will be presented to Parliament soon.
The Minister was speaking to the media before leaving the country to participate in the 35th session of the Committee under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
It is planned to review the first report submitted by Sri Lanka in this regard. The Minister emphasised that under the new Government, many policy decisions have been taken for people with disabilities over the past 18 months and a great deal of work has been done for their welfare.
