Sri Lanka, June 22 -- Showers or thundershowers are expected at times in several parts of the country today (22), according to the Department of Meteorology.

The department said that Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, as well as the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts, are likely to experience showers or thundershowers throughout the day.

Meanwhile, a few showers or thundershowers may occur in parts of the Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly strong winds of around 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces, as well as the Trincomalee District.
