Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- The Department of Meteorology has forecast several spells of showers for parts of the island today, according to the forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. on 31 August 2026.

Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts. A few showers may also occur in the North-western province.
