Sri Lanka, June 26 -- At least 12 passengers were injured after two private buses collided head-on in the Talalla area along the Tangalle-Matara main road, police said.

The accident was reported within the Gandara Police Division along the coastal stretch of the road.

Police said the injured passengers were admitted to hospital for treatment following the crash.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
