Sri Lanka, Sept. 14 -- An officer and four soldiers attached to the Mattala Air Force Base, along with two civilians, were arrested by Mattala Police on Saturday (12) while shooting deer roaming within the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport premises and selling the venison to civilians.

Police seized the meat and skull of a shot deer, along with a T-56 firearm used for the shooting, a knife, the jeep used to transport the venison, and the motorcycle ridden by the officer.

Police investigations revealed that the suspects had been shooting deer inside the Mattala Airport premises, bringing them to a bathroom within the Air Force base to skin and process the meat, and then supplying it to two civilians waiting outside the airport prem...
