Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- Over 6.97 acres of land in Keppapilavu, Mullaitivu district, previously used by the Security Forces, were released for public use on Wednesday (21).

The land was handed over by the Sri Lanka Army's 59th Division officers to the Maritimepattu Divisional Secretary, in the presence of Mullaitivu District Secretary/Government Agent A. Umamaheswaran.

The initiative is in line with the Government's policy of progressively releasing lands used by Security Forces, except those required for essential national security purposes and returning them to their rightful owners and for public use.Join the Army
