Sri Lanka, March 10 -- A suspect believed to be the second gunman involved in the shooting that left one person dead and two children injured in the Jinthupitiya on January 16 has been arrested.

The suspect was taken into custody in the Udawalawe following information received by officers of the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.

Police stated that the arrested suspect is a 25-year-old resident of the Udawalawe area.

Meanwhile, another suspect who allegedly acted as a gunman in the shooting was arrested earlier on March 3.

Further investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau.
