India, Sept. 7 -- The second phase of the third term for 2026 for government and government-approved private Sinhala and Tamil medium schools resumes today. The Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry announced that schools were closed on August 7, concluding the first phase of the 2026 third school term.

For Muslim schools, the third term vacation came into effect on September 2. The second phase of the third school term for all Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim schools will commence today 7 and continue until December 4.
