Sri Lanka, July 1 -- The National Transport Commission (NTC) said the proposal regarding the revision of SLTB (Sri Lanka Transport Board) and private bus fares has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Responding to an inquiry, NTC Director General Nilan Mirando, stated that the bus fare hike will be implemented in accordance with the upcoming Cabinet decision.

This decision has been taken in line with the annual bus fare revision scheduled to take effect from July 1. Mirando noted that the preliminary work for this is currently underway.

The official fuel price revision scheduled to be implemented by the Government from July will be specially taken into consideration.
