Sri Lanka, July 29 -- Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena yesterday (28) ordered the release on bail of Sarath Weerawansa, the brother of former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, who had been arrested and remanded over an incident of misusing state vehicles provided by the Presidential Secretariat to the National Freedom Front (NFF).
Ordering the suspect's release on a cash bail of Rs. 100,000 and two personal bails of Rs. 10 million each, the Magistrate issued an order imposing a travel ban on the suspect.
The Magistrate instructed the Court Registrar to notify the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration regarding the travel ban order.
