Sri Lanka, June 9 -- The Colombo High Court has sentenced former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardena, who was convicted in a corruption case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), to four years of rigorous imprisonment for each count.

In addition, the court imposed a fine of Rs. 600,000.

Gunawardena had been found guilty in four corruption cases filed by CIABOC over allegations related to irregularities in the procurement of vehicles for the Development Lotteries Board.
