Sri Lanka, March 7 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya informed Parliament that a Salary Commission will be established this year as a Government policy to address salary discrepancies within the Principal's Service and other sectors of the public service and recommend solutions to the existing issues. The PM outlined that the proposed salary commission aims to provide a sustainable solution to on-going salary disparities across various Government service sectors.

The Prime Minister said that extensive discussions have already taken place with principals and their associations regarding disparities in the Principal's Service.
