Sri Lanka, June 30 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that an independent expert advisory panel should be established under the Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change to identify the impacts of the El Nino and La Nina conditions on Sri Lanka which have currently drawn global attention and to provide the necessary guidance and information for the country to face these impacts.

The Opposition Leader made these remarks while addressing the Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change recently.

A large number of experts and Government officials representing the Central Bank and the Agriculture Department participated in this event.
