RPCs, PHDT strengthen post-Ditwah recovery efforts in estate communities
Sri Lanka, June 26 -- Regional Plantation Companies (RPCs) and the Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting estate communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, advancing both immediate relief measures and long-term reconstruction programmes aimed at rebuilding lives and restoring essential services.
Following the disaster, RPCs were among the first responders, with estate management teams relocating affected families to safer locations, including factories and estate buildings, while providing food, temporary shelter and other basic necessities before broader government assistance became available.
