Risks of fraud associated with cyber crime have increased - Harsha
Sri Lanka, July 11 -- Committee on Public Finance (COPF) Chairman, MP Dr. Harsha de Silva told Parliament that the entire foreign debt repayment process should be immediately subjected to a special review by the National Audit Office and the Attorney General's Department should take steps to file a case regarding the USD 2.5 million fraud as the COPF does not have the authority to do so.
He said that due to systemic deficiencies in the internal control systems of the Government debt repayment process and an outdated email infrastructure, the risks of fraud associated with cybercrime have increased.
