Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- A motorcyclist and pillion passenger died after their motorcycle hit a wall on the Mallakam-Alaveddy Road on Sunday evening.

The motorcycle was travelling towards Mallakam with two pillion passengers when it collided with the wall after the rider lost control of it.

The rider and both pillion passengers sustained serious injuries and were admitted to the Tellippalai Hospital.

While the rider and one of the pillion passengers died after admission to hospital, the remaining pillion passenger was transferred to the Jaffna Hospital for further treatment.

The deceased, aged 16 and 28, were residents of Kundukulam and Achchuveli, respectively.
