Sri Lanka, May 10 -- The Public Utilities Commission (PUCSL) has approved a revision of electricity tariffs for the second quarter of 2026, with the new rates set to take effect from Monday (11). The adjustments will see tariff increases ranging from 8% to 14.4%.
The National System Operator had proposed the revision, citing rising electricity generation costs driven by increased fuel prices, along with an estimated revenue shortfall of around Rs. 38 billion for the current and upcoming quarters.
