Sri Lanka, May 21 -- Transport, Highways and Urban Development Minister Bimal Rathnayake told Parliament that the country's annual revenue earned from expressways from January 1 to December 31, 2025 totalled Rs.16,330.14 mn. The Minister stated that the annual expressway maintenance cost totals Rs.5,180.90 mn.

Responding to a question raised by MP Ravi Karunanayake yesterday, he said that this total annual maintenance cost is to cover the 312.57 km of the national expressway network.

The Minister presented the annual revenues earned in 2025 from the country's expressways before the House.
