Srilanka, Oct. 24 -- Sri Lanka pulled off the second-highest successful run chase in ODI history, overhauling England's massive total of 429 for four with one ball to spare to register a thrilling two-wicket victory in their tri-series match at Rawalpindi on Thursday.

The two teams amassed 859 runs between them, behind only the 872-run match in which South Africa chased down 435 to beat Australia in Johannesburg in 2006. The 123 boundaries across both innings, comprising 93 fours and 30 sixes, also set a new ODI record.
