Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- The Dehiwala National Zoological Gardens income reached Rs. 2.5 million on August 26, the highest daily revenue in its history so far.

National Zoological Gardens Director General Chandana Rajapaksha said 10,634 visitors toured the zoo on the day which also fell during the school vacation.

While the average daily attendance is around 2,500 visitors, this historic revenue exceeded four times the usual daily average, indicating that this year's earnings could surpass previous records.
