RDA urges motorists to comply with expressway safety signs amid adverse weather
Sri Lanka, May 13 -- The Road Development Authority (RDA) has requested motorists using expressways to pay close attention to warning messages displayed on electronic signboards, in view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions.
The Authority has also advised drivers to keep their headlamps switched on even during daytime travel, as gloomy skies and misty weather conditions have significantly reduced visibility on expressways.
Motorists are further urged to maintain a controllable speed, strictly within the 60 km/h limit, and to ensure a safe distance between vehicles at all times.
The RDA has additionally cautioned that sudden braking at high speeds can pose serious safety risks, particularly under low-visibility conditions.
