Sri Lanka, May 20 -- NDF MP Ravi Karunanayake yesterday sought the Government's view concerning the growing vulnerability of Sri Lanka's public institutions and financial systems to cybercrime, cyber attacks, hacking, ransomware, data breaches and digital espionage. He wanted to know what urgent measures the Government had taken to protect Sri Lanka from future cyber warfare and organised cybercrime.

Recent incidents and attempted intrusions involving the Finance Ministry, Banking Sector, Registrar of Persons, Registrar of Companies, CBSL, RDA and the General Post Office have raised serious concerns regarding cyber resilience, national security, institutional preparedness and public confidence in Sri Lanka's digital infrastructure.
