Srilanka, June 15 -- Nuwara Eliya District MP Manjula Suraweeraarachchi stated that the reconstruction work on the Upcountry Railway Line, which was affected by landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah, has already commenced and is planned to be completed by September.

He further noted that five locations near the Kotagala, Great Western, Nanu-Oya, Perakumpura and Ambewela railway stations on the Upcountry Railway Line had faced landslides due to the Cyclone. Among these, the reconstruction of the landslide-affected areas including a 50-meter section near the 112.5 mile post between Kotagala and Talawakelle, as well as the locations between Nanu Oya and Ambewela has been handed over to the private sector.
