Sri Lanka, July 20 -- National Council on Road Safety Chairman Manjula Kularatne said legal action will be taken in the future against those who do not conduct quality inspections on public transport buses. Stating that the relevant gazette notification has already been issued, he said that legal action will be taken against bus owners who act in violation of it. He also mentioned that the registration of vehicle inspectors and vehicle repair centers is currently underway.

He further stated that these quality inspections must be conducted every 5,000 kilometers or every three months, and plans are being implemented to make such inspections mandatory for all vehicles in the future.
