Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The Department of Meteorology has reported that Puttalam recorded the island's highest rainfall within the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 a.m. today (14). According to the department, the area received a significant 256.2 mm of rain as inclement weather continues to lash several parts of the country.
