Srilanka, March 30 -- The tariff revision follows a proposal submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), which earlier requested a 13.56% increase in electricity tariffs for the second quarter of this year.According to the revised tariff structure announced by the PUCSL, electricity charges will increase across several consumption categories.
Consumers using 0-30 units per month will see a 4.3% increase, resulting in an additional Rs. 15 on their monthly bill.Those consuming 31-60 units will face a 6.9% increase, with a monthly rise of approximately Rs. 45.
Electricity users in the 61-90 units category will also experience a 6.9% increase, translating to an additional Rs. 120 per month.
