Sri Lanka, March 2 -- The Government has decided to increase the property loan limit of Rs.3 million provided to Government employees at concessional interest rates to Rs.5 million.

The loan limit will be increased as per the 2026 Budget and the relevant Public Administration Circular was issued yesterday.

Accordingly, Government employees will have the opportunity to receive more support to meet their housing needs. If a Government employee takes a loan of up to Rs.3 million, the Government will pay an interest of 4% for each of them. The interest paid by the borrower is 2%.
