Sri Lanka, Aug. 11 -- The property damage caused by the recent unrest at the Negombo Prison has exceeded Rs. 100 million, according to the Prisons Department, and it stated that investigations into the Negombo Prison riot incident are still underway.

Police Spokesperson ASP F.U. Wootler stated that a report on the investigation launched by prison authorities into the inmates involved in the recent unrest at the Kuruwita, Pallansena and New Magazine Prisons was expected yesterday (10).

Multiple parallel investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and oversight bodies remain ongoing into the incidents.
