Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- Due to the prolonged dry spell, the Moragahakanda and Kaluganga reservoirs, the final irrigation projects of the Mahaweli Development Scheme, have dried up significantly. During the construction of the Moragahakanda project, numerous villages across seven Grama Niladhari divisions were completely submerged. As a result of the current dry conditions, former villages that were once erased from the map of Sri Lanka, including Hathe Kanuwa, Kongahawela, Kambarawa, and Moragolla, have now resurfaced, allowing the public to catch a glimpse of them once again.
