Sri Lanka, June 23 -- The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has organized a special programme to sensitize journalists on the contents of the Inland Revenue Amendment Act No. 11 of 2026 to make the general public aware.

This awareness programme is scheduled to be held today (23) from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the auditorium on the 15th floor of the IRD.

The programme will cover several fields including obtaining and using the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), levying tax on capital gains and removing interest on late taxes, amendments to encourage tax payments through bank cards, new decisions related to personal insurance and withholding tax (WHT), and the submission of income tax returns and legal action to be taken against tax violator...
