Sri Lanka, Aug. 31 -- Prima and Serendib companies have taken measures to increase wheat flour prices by up to Rs. 17.

Accordingly, Prima has increased the prices of its wheat flour products in the market by amounts ranging between Rs. 15 and Rs. 17. Serendib has raised the prices of all its wheat flour varieties by Rs. 17.

Due to this price hike effective August 29, All Island Canteen Owners' Association President Harshana Rukshan stated that the prices of flour-based food items including roti, paratha, and short eats will be increased by Rs. 5.

Meanwhile, All Island Bakery Owners' Association President N. K. Jayawardena noted that the increase in wheat flour prices will necessitate a price hike for bread and other bakery products. Th...
