Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- Construction work on the Accident and Emergency Unit at the Mannar District General Hospital commenced yesterday morning (16).

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake was present for the start of the construction work. .

The Accident and Emergency Unit is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 600 million with a grant from the Indian Government. It will be equipped with modern facilities and will expand healthcare services further for the people of Mannar. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2028.Government
