Sri Lanka, June 24 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has established a Salaries and Pensions Commission, chaired by retired Ministry Secretary Asoka Peiris, with the primary objective of providing solutions to existing issues regarding the salaries and pensions of public sector employees and pensioners.

Accordingly, the President has acted to establish this commission via an Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2494/05, dated June 22, 2026.
