Sri Lanka, March 20 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held a telephone conversation with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, to discuss escalating tensions in the Middle East and their wider implications on Wednesday (18).

During the call, President Dissanayake inquired about the current situation in Qatar, particularly the well-being of the around 150,000 Sri Lankans residing in Qatar.
