Sri Lanka, Aug. 26 -- A discussion of the Government's flagship "Prajashakthi" Programme which is ongoing, and its plans for 2027 was held yesterday. The programme aims to eradicate poverty, empower communities and ensure economic justice.Government

The discussion was on August 24 at the Presidential Secretariat. Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Minister Upali Pannilage and the President's Secretary Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake presided at the meeting.

It was said during the discussion that approximately 23,000 projects have been implemented using Rs. 23 billion of the Rs. 25 billion allocated for the programme in the 2026 Budget and that all these projects could be completed within this year.
