Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Any Party that attempts to cling to power without a public mandate, merely by invoking the Constitution, will ultimately be cast aside by the people, former Parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake said.

Addressing a Press conference held yesterday (7) at the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) headquarters in Colombo, Attanayake said leaders who seize power by force have rarely remained in politics for long. He warned that any government attempting to hold on to power through the Constitution, without the people's endorsement, would meet the same fate.
