Sri Lanka, May 18 -- GPolice said legal action will be taken against former MP Wimal Weeransa and a group of 35 people who obstructed the rehearsal of the War Heroes' Commemoration and duties of the police officers on duty.

Police said a group of 35 people led by Weerawansa had attempted to unlawfully enter the premises of the War Heroes' Memorial in Battaramulla and obstruct the rehearsal activities and organisational activities for tomorrow's main ceremony.

They said police had thwarted the attempt and disperse the group.

Police said legal action will be taken over the incident against the group led by Weerawansa.
